The Coalition for Prisoners’ Rights (CPR) published their newsletter for 36 years, with the final issue published in October of 2023. They distributed the paper newsletter to over 9,000 subscribers until moving to a digital format in 2009. The newsletter intended to reach families, friends, and allies of prisoners, and covered a range of topics including the death penalty, notes from prisoners, a prisoner takeover in Santa Fe, crimes committed by wardens and the Supreme Court, and more. This collection contains early newsletters issued by the CPR, from 1987-1988.
