Kwame Ture (FKA Stokely Carmichael) served as the first leader ofSNCC, helped coin the phrase Black Power "Honorary Prime Minister" ofthe Black Panther Party. Carmichael changed his name to Kwame Ture, to honor the African leadersKwame Nkrumah and Sekou Touré. Ture lived in Guinea until his death in 1998.
