Jamil Al-Amin (formerly known as H. Rap Brown) was a major organizer in the Black Liberation Movement. He was involved in SNCC, the Black Panther Party and more recently was involved in Muslim organizing in Atlanta. Al-Amin is was charged to serving a life sentence for the murder of a sheriff's deputy. Al-Amin passed in federal custody at the age of 82 in 2025.
