CHILE SI! Poems of Solidarity
A collection of poems written in response to the Chilean military coup and its aftermath between 1973-75 under the Pinochet dictatorship, with english interpretations of select Spanish language poetry. It includes a two page introduction which provides context of the situation in Chile, particularly highlighting the role of US intervention and the ensuing violences following the overthrow of the popularly-elected President Allende. The sale of this collection of poems, which was published the same year that Pinochet denied the UN Commission on Human Rights entry into Chile, helped fundraise for the Chile Solidarity movement. Edited by Robert High, Michael Taylor, and Kathleen Weaver.
